Trip through a tunnel

I thought I would video our trip through the tunnel and down the parkway from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge

Bike Trip to the Mountains

Thursday, we left and rode the bike to Pigeon Forge. When we left it was raining, just a little, it quit pretty soon. We stopped at Smokey Mountain Harley-Davidson, we needed to stretch our legs. From there we went on in to Pigeon Forge. The leaves were really pretty this weekend.
On Friday we did a lot of riding. The weather was Great!!! In the valley it was about 75 degrees in the afternoon, but we decided to ride to the top of the mountain between Gatlinburg and Cherokee and the temperature dropped drastically when we go closer to the top. When we got to the top, we had to put on coats and gloves!!!
Saturday was not such a nice day. We came home in the rain! And it rained almost all the way home. Even with rainsuits, we were still wet, and cold. Three hours of riding in the rain is not really a lot of fun, but that's okay, the other two days were wonderful and we had a great time.
Looking forward to our next trip!
Hope you enjoy the pictures, this is just a small portion of what I took.

Papa and Nana

Papa made this while we were riding down the mountain!

At the top of the mountain!

One of the tunnels going up the mountain!

The sun shining through the trees made it seem like the trees were glowing!

The ridge at the Welcome Center in Gatlinburg.

The colors were awesome!

Nana ready for the ride!

It was pretty chilly Friday morning, but the day warmed up and it was very nice for riding!

The Tree is Finally Gone!!!

The tree that did the damage to our mobile home is finally gone. Only half of it fell, so we have been waiting on someone to come and take down the other half of the tree, I was so glad Monday afternoon when they got it on the ground. It also had a hollow place in it, so it could have come down at any time. Very grateful it didn't fall on the house or the storage building.

Bike upgrades

Hey, thought ya'll would enjoy the new stuff Papa had put on the bike.
I know Ken and Stephen will. I did a video to let you hear the new sound but it wasn't very good. You really couldn't hear the difference as much as I thougth you would. You will just have to hear it in person. He put Vance & Hines on, and it sounds really good!

A Good Week

This has actually been a very good week.
They finished up on the repairs on our mobile home, and we now have a roof with NO hole in it :)
They finished the bedroom late Friday so now I get to start moving everything back, but first I think I will do a little house cleaning, as in getting rid of things we don't need, or haven't used, maybe since we have been here!!!!

Still don't have any job prospects, but I know God has something for me to do, I just have to be patient, and wait upon the Lord, which is not an easy thing for me, but I am trying.

We got out and rode today, we went out to Cloudland and rode up 157 a ways, ran into some old friends from Dry Creek! It was very hot, but we enjoyed the ride and the wonderful food, we stopped where a group Kenny works with were set up cooking Barbecue, Brunswick stew and fried apple pies. Yes, we got some of it all!!!!

Oh well, just wanted to let everyone know what is going on.
Thanks for your prayers.

We had a storm!!!

The pictures that follow are of some of the damage after a storm here on Sunday night. We were at church and you could hear the rain, thunder, see the lightning, and the power even went off. Papa just kept on preaching and finished his sermon. When we came out we noticed a tree down in the driveway, so we cautioned everyone to be careful and go around the tree. A few minutes later, Bro. Richard came back into the church and told us that there was a tree on our trailer. It was scary, but we are just so thankful that God is so good. Within a few minutes the men of the church, and some of their family and friends were back and started the work of getting the tree off the trailer to prevent further damage.
Praise God for such wonderful folks he has blessed us to know!

The pictures are not in any order, and I should have put the rainbow last, I guess, but I just didn't think.

God Is Good!

God still sets his bow in the sky! I am just so thankful no one was hurt, and this was just a beautiful sight. I couldn't get the entire rainbow, it was a perfect bow, but I could only get this side.

The tree is finally gone!

They finally got the tree off the trailer about 10:30 pm. Bro. Mike made this picture of the roof where the tree went through.

Helpers

The tree that you see here is a part of the tree that went onto and into the roof. It will be going soon, too much of a hazard now. The squirrels will just have to find somewhere else to play!

Taking the tree off the roof!

Johnny and Mike cutting small sections of the tree to get it off the roof. They had to cut the tree in small sections to keep it from doing any more damage to the roof.

The sun came out!!!

The sun came out so I actually got a pretty good picture of the mess!
This is from the front. If you notice the little dots, it was still raining when I made most of the pictures.

Ken and Terri

Ken, Terri, Kerry, Emily, Cami and Taylor came up Friday and stayed until Saturday. Ken wanted some time on the bike, and of course the girls wanted to ride.

Terri got really brave this weekend. She actually went on a ride longer than just down the driveway and back.

Papa, Ken and Stephen - Three peas in a pod!!!

We all got together and took the girls and their friends bowling today. Emily and Cami wanted to do that for their birthday, which was in May!
But I got this picture, which is rare, to be able to get a picture of my three oldest boys together.

Papa and His Grandkids

This is part of what makes Father's Day so special! After you watch your children grow into adults, and then they bring home the grandchildren, that makes it all worth while.

Ken and Stephen

I know this picture is pretty old, but I just had to use it. I have always loved this picture of you two.You were such loving brothers, (most days), and now you have both become wonderful, loving dads. Dad and I are very proud of you two, and the way you have both grown up. We hope you both have a wonderful Father's Day!

Ken, Terri, Kerry, Emily, Cami and Taylor

Happy Father's Day. You are a great dad!

Vacation Bible School and Family Fun Day

We had Vacation Bible School this week. We studied about Gideon, Esther, Peter and John, Jesus, Saul and Ananias. We had 7 precious souls saved on Thursday night, and 1 on Friday night. Saturday was our Family Fun Day. We always have a contest between the boys and girls. The winners get to pie the preacher or the directors. The boys won so they got to pie Mrs. Sherri and Mrs. 'Nette, but all the kids wanted to pie the preacher, so, of course, he let them. Everyone seemed to have a great time.
As you can see from this picture, even the ones who got pied, were having a great time!

Zachary and Papa

Stephen, Jessica and Zachary came up this weekend. They needed Papa to work on the van. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of Zachary helping Papa, but I did get these of Papa and Zachary Saturday morning. While they were here, Zachary was watching a movie, and I tried to get him to move to a chair or the couch so he could see better, and he told me "No, Dude's chair."
So, Uncle Dude, he likes to sit in YOUR chair!

FAITH Riders

We have joined a group called FAITH Riders, sanctioned by the Southern Baptist Convention. You can check out their website at http://faithriders.com/ . The local chapter we joined is out of Boynton Baptist Church in Catoosa County. It is the closest one to us. Dr. Keith Mcleod, the pastor, has just gotten a 2005 Hondo VTX 1300, his first bike in a long time, so we had small three hour ride today. We met at Ingles in Ringgold, and went south on 151 to 136 and crossed Taylor Ridge, went east to the Pocket Road and road south through the Pocket to Floyd Springs. We hit 156 west to 27, and came 27 north back to LaFayette, where we split off from the group. They were going to Chickamauga and then back to Ringgold. The group is just getting organized so there were just 5 bikes today, but we had a really nice ride. They are expecting the group to grow in the coming months. They were a very nice group of folks and we really enjoyed the fellowship.

Friday Adventure

Papa and I finally got a chance to take a decent ride. We had to take the trike to Atlanta for it's 1,000 mile check up. This was the first long trip we have made. We really enjoyed the ride. The interstate is okay, but I prefer the slower pace of the back roads, especially on the bike. Since we had to wait almost four hours while they serviced the bike, Jessica and Zachary came out and picked us up, and we met Stephen and went to lunch. We enjoyed spending time Jessica and Zachary, he is such a card. Bless his little heart, he is so much like his daddy and Papa and Uncle Dude, he doesn't have a chance. He still won't get on the bike when it is running, but he really enjoyed seeing all the bikes at Killer Creek. They had a lot out today, they were having a "Sidewalk Sale".

Riding In The Rain

Everybody has heard the song "Singing in the Rain", well today, Papa and I went riding in the rain! Seems like the only way we will get to ride our Harley is to ride it in the rain! We rode about 85 miles, and we didn't get too wet, but we ran through about a half dozen little showers, but all in all it was still enjoyable, and at least we got to ride!!!!!Maybe the weather will break soon so we can ride more often and for longer trips.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day. We should all remember all the soldiers who have made it possible for us to do the things we enjoy doing, whenever we want to.

Zachary loves the outside, as a matter of fact it is hard to get him to go inside!
